The Sanctity of Life

Destroy a soul

Destroy a world

Save a life

Save a world

The math is simple

the lesson is hard

I used to think

It meant reflections

As our life works in cycles

Like the earth

Spring’s birth, summer’s youth, fall’s reflection, winter’s end

Or our bodies are houses

Of civilizations, entire worlds

That our inner world

Is a reflection of the whole

I used to think

It was about descendents

the innumerable number of lives that can spawn from one

Children, grand children, great grandchildren

Etc. Etc.

Now I think

It’s in relation

To the space

That you

Take in my heart

A universe’s worth of importance
